Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
1. Scope
This policy explains how Afterpath, LLC uses cookies, browser storage, pixels, and similar technologies on afterpath.life. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
Optional analytics and advertising measurement stay off until you allow the relevant category. Necessary storage supports security, protected pages, site preferences, and your saved privacy choice.
2. Necessary Storage
- afterpath_consent_v1: A first-party cookie that records the policy version, categories you allowed, the date of your choice, and whether a browser privacy signal was active. Maximum life: 180 days.
- afterpath-color-mode: Browser storage that remembers the light or dark appearance you selected. It remains until you change it or clear site data.
- ap_demo_auth and ap_roadmap_auth: Secure, HTTP-only access cookies for password-protected demo and roadmap pages. Maximum life: 7 days.
- Short-lived interface storage: Session storage may remember whether you dismissed a notice or already saw a page prompt during the current browser session.
3. Analytics
If you allow Analytics, Google Analytics 4 measures page visits, referral sources, device and browser details, and interactions such as assessment progress and submissions. Afterpath does not send assessment contact details or estate records in analytics events.
- _ga: Distinguishes visitors. Google documents a default expiration of 2 years.
- _ga_<container-id>: Persists session state. Google documents a default expiration of 2 years.
Google Analytics is completely blocked before Analytics consent. Advertising-related Google consent signals remain denied because Afterpath does not use Google advertising tags on this site.
4. Advertising Measurement
If you allow Advertising measurement, the LinkedIn Insight Tag measures LinkedIn campaign performance and can build advertising audiences. The tag may contact LinkedIn and set or read LinkedIn cookies. LinkedIn documents cookies used on third-party sites, including bcookie, li_gc, UserMatchHistory, lms_ads, lms_analytics, and AnalyticsSyncHistory. Documented lifetimes range from the current session to 1 year.
LinkedIn controls its own cookies and may update their names or lifetimes. See the LinkedIn Cookie Table for its current list.
5. Your Choices
- The first visit presents equally available controls to accept or reject all optional categories.
- Manage choices lets you allow Analytics and Advertising measurement independently.
- The Cookie settings link in the site footer remains available after your choice so you can change or withdraw consent.
- When Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is active, optional measurement remains disabled.
- Withdrawing Analytics consent stops future Google Analytics loading and removes first-party _ga cookies that Afterpath can access. Third-party cookies controlled by LinkedIn can also be removed through your browser or LinkedIn settings.
6. Changes & Contact
We update this policy when our storage or measurement tools change. A material change that introduces a new optional purpose will require a new consent choice.
Questions and privacy requests can be sent to privacy@afterpath.life.
